Reimbursement: take account of your own costs
A circumcision is not reimbursed by default by health insurance. In principle you pay for the treatment yourself.
Do you live in Belgium? You are welcome and pay the same rate as Dutch patients. You receive an invoice to take home; whether it is reimbursed depends on your own insurer or mutuality. Please check that with your fund in advance. We do not issue a medical certificate (attest), but we can give you a letter for your GP.
Is there a medical indication (with a referral from the GP or specialist)? Then you may be able to claim the costs afterwards (partially or in full) from your health insurer. Whether and how much is reimbursed differs by policy and insurer; check this in advance with your health insurance.

With a medical indication and a referral from the GP or specialist, different rates apply, because there is more administrative work. You initially pay this yourself; depending on your policy, you may be able to claim the costs afterwards (partially or in full) from your health insurer.

Good to know
- Sleep and deep sedation: € 250,- extra (only possible on certain dates).
- VAT: for a procedure without a medical therapeutic purpose, 21% VAT is due. You receive a declaration in advance; on that basis an exemption may apply.
- Should the procedure not be able to go ahead for medical reasons, € 50,- consultation costs are charged.
